Summary
Two kids who don't get along, Lily (Coco Lovelock) and Emma (Haley Reed), are invited to a school counselor named Mr. Russell (Brad Newman) for an intervention at his residence. Lily and Emma heckle each other, demonstrating how much they detest one another, even as they stroll together up to the front steps. It becomes clear that Lily and Emma are rivals at school and that their rivalry is interfering with instruction after they take a seat in front of Mr. Russell. They're there today, according to Mr. Russell, because the school asked him to talk to them about trying to make things right. However, Mr. Russell begins subtly inciting conflict between them by asking questions that push them against one another. The more arrogant Lily and Emma become with one another, the more friction there is. Mr. Russell appears to be attempting to assist them, but his words inadvertently widen the gulf between the two very competitive girls who regard one another as threats. Ultimately, Mr. Russell tells them, under false pretenses, that he believes latent sexual tension is the root of their animosity toward one another. Shocked, Emma and Lily both say that's not possible because they're not lesbians. However, Mr. Russell persists in his manipulation of Lily and Emma, gradually persuading them that having sex is the only way to put an end to their arguments. Lily and Emma are shocked, but if this is what it takes to have them stop being hostile toward one other, then so be it.
